Biography
Jenny Mahla works as a freelancer in the field of dance dramaturgy and texts as well as a facilitator for various encounter and exchange formats. Focusing on Dance and Gender Studies at the University of Leipzig, they found their way to contemporary dance and worked as a dramaturg for Dance Theatre Heidelberg from 2018 to 2021. Since 2021 they are in Berlin and founded the network "Tools for Friction" at the Uferstudios together with other dance makers. Besides pursuing their master’s degree at the FU Berlin in Critical Dance Studies, they are already working and researching in the field of Queer Theory, Black Studies and Critical Dance Studies.
