Biography
Mouafak Aldoabl (Mofi)
Syrian-born dancer Mouafak Aldoabl, known as Mofi, began his career in 2009, touring with
dance groups across the Arab region. After advancing his training at the Higher Institute of
Dramatic Arts, he moved to Berlin in 2015, where he completed his studies at Balance 1 Dance
Academy.
He collaborated with companies and choreographers like Sasha Waltz, Total Brutal/Nir de Volff,
Yoshiko Chuma, Miriam Gürtner, and the Forward Dance Company. His improvisational, breath-
focused style has been further enriched by working among others, with people of diverse
cultural backround, queer artists, children and dancers of different abilities and taken him on
tours across Europe and Africa.
Currently, Focusing on spreading his inclusive dance method and leading 1001 Berlin Nights a
Dance group that merges his passion for traditional cultural roots with modern dance
expression.
