Biography

Hannah Schillinger (she / they) is a choreographer, performer and artist based between Munich and Berlin.

In her artistic practice, the body is the starting point for exploring its perception, expression and modulation of experience and imagination through movement, voice and gaze.

Her works deal critically with the European cultural heritage. They are in dialogue with Western modernism and postmodernism, critical whiteness and queer lesbian feminism. Her works move between dance, theatre and visual art.

Hannah was born 1996 in the south of Munich/Germany. She started her dance education at IWANSON International in Munich, holds a BA in Modern Theatre Dance from the Amsterdam University of the Arts, danced with the dance company ICK Amsterdam and, as a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, completed an MA in Choreography at HZT Berlin. Her graduation work runners (2022) was shown in the large exhibition hall of Reinbeckhallen Berlin. Further works include stage works like screen play (2023), field work (2025) and Joan (2026), as well as installation works like spin off (2024) and here lies the heart (2026). Her works so far have been shown at Reinbeckhallen, KINDL Kesselhaus, alte Königstadtbrauerei and DOCKART Berlin, HochX and Schwere Reiter Munich, CC Heidelberg, Workspace Brussels/P.A.R.T.S. and Westergasfabriek Amsterdam.
