Biography
Sina Saberi, born on January 19, 1988, in Tehran, Iran, is a choreographer, performer, and cultural manager currently based in Germany. Initially, he pursued studies in literature, language teaching, and communication before transitioning to the performing arts in 2012. In 2017, he founded Kakeshan, an indeterminate space dedicated to movement research and choreographic creation.
His artistic journey is deeply influenced by his cultural background, focusing on dance as an alternate state of being. His work explores the intersection of personal and public experiences, aiming to foster a sense of togetherness. This is visible in his trilogy, Prelude, Damnoosh, and basis for being نرگس in which he explores the human condition through choreographic research.
Throughout his career, Saberi has participated in various international festivals and residencies, including the Fajr International Festival in Tehran, Rencontres Choregraphiques in Paris, Hellerau in Dresden, and BIPOD in Beirut. He has also been associated with organizations such as Maqamat Dance in Beirut, DanceWeb in Vienna, Dancing on The Edge in Amsterdam, Tanzfabrik Berlin, BIT Teatergarasjen in Bergen, K3 Tanzplan Hamburg, Charleroi Danse Brussels and euro-scene Leipzig.
