Biography

Inky Lee (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist and a writer living in Berlin. Their work creates space for the embodied experiences of marginalized individuals and communities to be acknowledged, mourned for and celebrated. In their work, Inky looks for ways to be direct and tender at once.
Since 2022, Inky has been working with Deaf performers and learning German sign language (DGS). As an autistic person, Inky continues to research working methods and create performances that are accessible for neurodivergent artists and audiences. As queer, PoC, and immigrant who comes from a working class background, Inky engages in sharing the experiences of struggle, discrimination, oppression, and violence that this community faces in day to day life.
Inky has been in continuous working relationships with Tanzfabrik Berlin, Tanzbüro Berlin and Performing Arts Programm Berlin. Inky has also been collaborating with other freelance performance artists, dancers, musicians, writers and activists, as well as creating their own works.
