Biography
Edith is a Berlin-based choreographer, dancer, teacher, and intimacy coordinator. She is co-founder of the collective Company HAA and Project Pomegranate.
Her artistic practice is situated at the intersection of choreography, artistic research, and relational practices. Working with intergenerational, interdisciplinary, and mixed-experience groups, she understands dance as a social and discursive space in which different bodies, perspectives, and lived experiences can enter into dialogue. Her work explores questions of belonging, collectivity, resonance, and embodied experience.
Her latest works include Elefanten in Blutadern (8+) for Schäxpir Festival 2023 in Linz and Woyzeck at the Radu Stanca National Theatre, for which she and co-director Hunor von Horvath were nominated for Best Direction at the UNITER Gala 2024. She also created Passion for the contemporary ballet company Cisne Negro in São Paulo, which premiered in May 2024 at SESC Consolação.
Her first dance films, In Venus (2022) and Os, Ingen (2021), were screened at international film festivals, most recently at the St Kilda Film Festival in Melbourne.
Furthermore, she was awarded the Peter, Ingrid og Ralph Hernøes

What do you wish for the Berlin dance scene?
I wish for more meeting points that bring together professional dancers, artists from different disciplines, and people from diverse backgrounds. Spaces where we can slow down, exchange ideas, challenge each other, and build connections beyond professional agendas. I believe dance can be a social space that fosters belonging, dialogue, and collective imagination.
