Biographie
Katharina Scheidtmann is a dance artist, choreographer, dance teacher and lecturer. She began her dance career in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in dance education at the University of the Arts ArtEZ Arnhem. In addition to her own choreographic productions, she teaches at various educational institutions such as Seneca Intensiv, the Alice Salomon Hochschule, the Bauhaus University Weimar and in various school projects, including for TanzZeit. She has gained a lot of experience as a dancer and choreographer, including with the Kama Dance Company, Erik Kaiel, Beendend Danstheater Telder, Toshiki Okada and Introdans. In 2022, Katharina worked as production manager and dance mediator for the community project "In C - Marler Partitur" by Sasha Waltz & Guests. By completing her Master's degree in Dance Studies at the Free University of Berlin in 2023, she expanded and deepened her theoretical knowledge and academic work in the field of performing arts.
Together with 5 dance artists, she founded the DanceConnective FREYAS, with which Katharina performed her first project "Fluid Bodies, Tital Voices" in the exhibition space in 2023.
Katharina Scheidtmann is particularly interested in interdisciplinary, collaborative work and the interplay of body, contact and space.
