Biography
Julia Keren Turbahn studied Media and Cultural Studies in Düsseldorf and Dance Studies at UNSW in Sydney. She graduated in Dance, Context, Choreography at HZT in early 2019. She values interdisciplinary and ongoing collaborative work processes and shares a longstanding collaboration with Tel Aviv-based visual artist Tal Alperstein and choreographers Simone Gisela Weber, Jan Rozman, Ziv Frenkel and Lea Moro. Their deep interest in the moving body as an integral part of their artistic practice is also reflected in the movement in different positions and spaces in artistic projects. These works can take place in a theater, a gallery space or outdoors. She also applies her understanding of knowledge production through bodily and other artistic practices in her work as a mediator in different contexts.
